The Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity

Sancta Trinitas - Holy Trinity
Gospel - Matthew 28:16-20
The eleven disciples went to Galilee,
to the mountain to which Jesus had ordered them.
When they all saw him, they worshiped, but they doubted.
Then Jesus approached and said to them,
"All power in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations,
baptizing them in the name of the Father,
and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit,
teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.
And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age."

The Mystery of the Trinity
There is a story that St. Augustine was walking on the beach contemplating the mystery of the Trinity. Then he saw a boy in front of him who had dug a hole in the sand and was going out to the sea again and again and bringing some water to pour into the hole. St. Augustine asked him, “What are you doing?” “I’m going to pour the entire ocean into this hole.” “That is impossible, the whole ocean will not fit in the hole you have made” said St. Augustine. The boy replied, “And you cannot fit the Trinity in your tiny little brain.” The story concludes by saying that the boy vanished as St. Augustine had been talking to an angel.

responsorial psalm: solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity

for June 3, 2012
Psalm 33: 4-5, 6,9,18-19,20,22
R. (12b) Blessed the people the Lord has chosen to be his own.
Upright is the word of the LORD,
and all his works are trustworthy.
He loves justice and right;
of the kindness of the Lord the earth is full.
R. Blessed the people the Lord has chosen to be his own.
By the word of the LORD the heavens were made;
by the breath of his mouth all their host.
For he spoke, and it was made;
he commanded, and it stood forth.
R. Blessed the people the Lord has chosen to be his own.
See, the eyes of the LORD are upon those who fear him,
upon those who hope for his kindness,
To deliver them from death
and preserve them in spite of famine.
R. Blessed the people the Lord has chosen to be his own..
Our soul waits for the LORD,
who is our help and our shield.
May your kindness, O LORD, be upon us
who have put our hope in you.
R. Blessed the people the Lord has chosen to be his own.

for June 3, 2012
Glory to the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit; to God who is, who was, and who is to come.

Alle, Alle, Alleluia by Fr. Richard Ho Lung, M.O.P.

Written and performed by Father Richard Ho Lung, M.O.P. (Missionaries of the Poor)

Richard Ho Lung, MOP
Father Richard Ho Lung was born and raised on the island of Jamaica. He founded the Missionaries of the Poor, a religious order recognized by the Vatican and aided by the late Mother Teresa. They now house and care for abandoned children, lepers, people with AIDS and others in need in India, the Philippines, Haiti and Jamaica.

Much of his music has a distinct Caribbean sound, but its appeal transcends all cultural and ethnic boundaries. Strong in its rhythms, free in its natural melodic flow, Father Ho Lung's powerful, emotional songs have been sung at Papal Masses and used in Catholic liturgies and other worship services.

Take My Hands by Sebastian Temple

"Take My Hands" by Sebastian Temple

Take my hands and make them as your own,
and use them for your kingdom here on earth.
Consecrate them to your care, anoint them for your service
where you may need your gospel to be sown.

Take my hands, they speak now for my heart,
and by their actions they will show your love.
Guard them on their daily course, be their strength
and guiding force to ever serve the Trinity above.

Take my hands; I give them to you, Lord.
Prepare them for the service of your name.
Open them to human need and by their love they'll sow
your seed so all may know the love and hope you gave.

All Praise and Glad Thanksgiving, traditional

text: based on Trisagion, Greek 5th century.
music: Gott Vater Sei Gepriesen, Limburg Gesangbuch 1838

Trisagion "Trice Holy" is a hymn of praise to the Holy Trinity: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Since the first century, the Church has marveled about and praised the Trinitarian nature of God.

1. All praise and glad thanksgiving To God the Father be: The Font of all things living, Who reigns eternally.
Praise to God forever be, One in life, in Persons three: Mighty God, saving God, God eternal Trinity!
2. Christ Jesus, we adore you, The Son of God most high; With thanks we sing vefore you, Who came for us to die.
Praise to God forever be, One in life, in Persons three: Mighty God, saving God, God eternal Trinity!
3. O Holy Spirit, blessing to You who reign above! Your wondrous confessing, The Church sings forth your love!
Praise to God forever be, One in life, in Persons three: Mighty God, saving God, God eternal Trinity!

Can you feel the spirit?

The 8 AM choir is ready to sing at the Pentecost Mass!

medieval chant is awesome!

one of the most famous Marian Antiphon chants is the Salve Regina (Hail Holy Queen)

Salve, Regina, mater misericordiae;
vita, dulcedo et spes nostra, salve.
Ad te clamamus, exsules filii Hevae.
Ad te suspiramus, gementes et flentes
in hac lacrimarum valle.
Eia ergo, advocata nostra,
illos tuos misericordes oculos ad nos converte.
Et Iesum, benedictum fructum ventris tui,
nobis post hoc exsilium ostende.
O clemens, o pia, o dulcis Virgo Maria.

Hail, holy Queen, Mother of mercy,
hail, our life, our sweetness, and our hope.
To you we cry, the children of Eve;
to you we send up our sighs,
mourning and weeping in this land of exile.
Turn, then, most gracious advocate,
your eyes of mercy toward us;
lead us home at last
and show us the blessed fruit of your womb, Jesus:
O clement, O loving, O sweet virgin Mary.

Happy Pentecost!
